I consider learners are responsible for their learning process in an 85%. As I posted on the cmap, teachers are leaders in this process but students have the biggest part here. At my workplace there are some interactive boards which help learners take the risk and do things by themselves. I like using different pages such as:
www.english-zone.com, www.manythings.org, www.agendaweb.org, and www.eslgamesworld.com.
Learners can also use these pages at home because they are user-friendly.

Virtual vs Physical Classrooms
Classes are much more fun and interactive when working with a piece of technology. The other day I asked my students to tell me about themselves through a poster they should design on glogster.com. They posted pics of their favorite singers, their likes and hobbies, some of them even uploaded their favorite songs. The following class they presented their posters to the group.
